Master of Urban and Environmental Planning Programs

Year Program: 2 Years

Proper planning is necessary for preventing and solving problems related to urban and environmental planning in response to impacts from the rapid development in Thailand. However, the number of scholars and qualified staff with knowledge in urban and environmental planning is very limited and inadequate to develop the country according to the decentralization policy that aims to enhance quality of life and generate a better community, and social and natural environment. The Urban and Environmental Planning Division therefore offers the Master of Urban and Environmental Planning Program (MUEP- 2 years) to produce graduates regardless of academic background to be able to work and supervise urban physical developments in central and regional areas. It develops graduates with innovative views and knowledge in problem analysis and creation of implementation methods to develop the country based on planning disciplines and sufficiency economy philosophy. The program encourages knowledge development through research and multidisciplinary studies in urban and environmental planning that complement social needs. Students have ample opportunities to study and exchange experiences with classmates and faculties from diverse professional backgrounds in regional development to gain knowledge in urban and regional planning as well as community planning.
